PhD Guadalupe Villa directed the dissertation that was granted the Award Francisco Javier Clavijero to the best dissertation for bachelor’s degree in History, presented by the student Edgar Sáenz López, and entitled “Francisco Cárdenas, una vida entre el orden y la transgresión.”

Mora Institute was recognized for publishing, with El Colegio de México and the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the book by Jesús Hernández Jaimes, La formación de la hacienda pública mexicana y las tensiones centro-periferia, 1821-1835, that received an Honorific Mention of the Award Francisco Javier Clavijero for Best Research.

The journal América Latina en la Historia Económica was incorported in the journals portal SCImago Journal and Country Rank, in the category of History and Economy.

PhD Johanna von Grafenstein was elected Vice President for the Association of Historians from Latin America and the Caribbean (ADHILAC). One of the objectives of the new Board of Directors will be to organize the XII International Meeting, to be held in 2018, with the subject “Students’ struggles in the history of Latin America.”
