The review América Latina en la Historia Económica publishes two of the papers rewarded by the Mexican Committee of Historical Sciences:

New Spain Period, Award for the best paper. Mariano Bonialian, “México, epicentro semiinformal del comercio hispanoamericano (1680-1740),” in América Latina en la Historia Económica, 35, Jan.-Jun. (2011): 7-18. 20th Century Period, Honorific Mention for a paper.

Eduardo Turrent Díaz, “La estatización bancaria en México. Una interpretación desde la perspectiva del pensamiento económico,” in América Latina en la Historia Económica, 36, Jul.-Dec. (2011): 155-82.

The Network of Scientific Reviews from Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal (Redalyc), incorporated Secuencia. Revista de historia y ciencias sociales in their system of scientific information. This recognition gives this review and the Institute the opportunity to reach a larger number of readers and it also contributes to the dissemination of the research in history and social sciences among the international scientific community.

The journal América Latina en la Historia Económica was chosen by the CONACYT to be part of the group of reviews that will begin to migrate to the Open Journal Systems, which will give immediate and simple access to the ALHE issues, and it will also shorten the editorial production process. Thus, the review will have increased presence in the main browsers continuing to be among the cutting-edge international digital journals.

PhD Carmen Collado gained the LLILAS-Benson research scholarship to work in the Nettie Lee Benson Latin America Collection of the University of Texas in Austin.

PhD Rodrigo Laguarda has been appointed member of the Postgraduate Studies General Council of the Centre for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS) in recognition of his academic trajectory and his teaching experience.

PhD Beatriz Schmuckler was granted funding from the Federal Judicial Power to teach the degree Training in Family Democratization for the development of fair cohabitation between man and woman. In this degree, public officials are trained and sensitized, and gender equity is promoted in the household and in job relationships.

PhD Gabriela Sánchez received funding in the context of the Ibero-American Academic Network of International Cooperation (RIACI), which will be granted by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation (AECID). The framework protect entitled “Strengthening of academic spaces and international cooperation management through research, training and work in a network in Ibero-America” has a secondary project, the Ibero-American Science and Technology Program for Development and its Role in the Ibero-American Agenda for Development. This project, directed by PhD Gabriela Sánchez, will be conducted in coordination with San Martín University and the collaboration of the Professorship of Cantabria and San Buenaventura University.
