PhD Alberto del Castillo’s book Ensayo sobre el movimiento estudiantil de 1968 en México. La fotografía y la construcción de un imaginario was awarded an honorific mention in the Francisco Javier Clavijero 2013 Award, bestowed by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) in the research category.

The review América Latina en la Historia Económica, has been incorporated in the SciELO Citation Index, where bibliographic records of the works published in ALHE can be found. SciELO Citation Index resulted from an agreement between SciELO network, coordinated by SciELO-Brasil and Thomson Reuters (former ISI), the company owning the data base Web of Science – WoS. This Index can be accessed through the National Consortium of Scientific and Technological Information Resources (CONRICYT-CONACYT).

PhD Alberto del Castillo was given a Honorific Mention in “Eugenia Meyer” Latin American Oral History Award, launched by the Latin American Network of Oral History, for his book Ensayo sobre el movimiento estudiantil de 1968 en México. La fotografía y la construcción de un imaginario.

MA Alicia Salmerón will make a stay as invited researcher at the centre Mondes Américains, Sociétés, Circulations, Pouvoirs (XVe-XXIe siècle), of the CNRS next year. This prize results from the prestige o her works on Mexico’s political history, especially on the political practices and the ideas on democracy and the parties held by political groups close to the Porfirian regime.

Three of our researchers and a former student of the Institute’s masters in Modern and Contemporary History each won an award in Antonio García Cubas 2013 Contest, called up annually by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History).

The book ¿Cómo formular un proyecto de tesis? Guía para estructurar una propuesta de investigación desde el oficio de la historia, by MA Alicia Salmerón and PhD Laura Suárez de la Torre got Honorific Mention in the category “Text book.”

The book Pedro Valtierra. Mirada y testimonio from PhD Alberto del Castillo and MA Mónica Morales, was granted Honorific Mention in the category “work of art or facsimile edition”.

The prize-giving ceremony will take place at the inauguration of the XXV Book Fair of Anthropology and History in the National Museum of Anthropology and History, on September 26, at 11:00 AM.

PhD Eulalia Ribera Carbó is a member of the Chronicle Council of the City of Orizaba, an appointment made by the Constitutional Council of Orizaba, which commits her to the dissemination of the history of that city..

PhD Silvia Dutrénit Bielous has been designated Superior Associate Researcher in the National Researchers System of Uruguay, a top level category granted to researchers living in a foreign country.
