The Direction of Gender Equity of Mexico’s Supreme Court of Justice instructed PhD Guadalupe Serna to undertake the project “Promotion routes and obstacles in the professional trajectory of Secretaries of Study and Account” with a fund of 232 thousand pesos. This project seeks to contribute information on the reasons alleged by a group of professionals performing the roles of Secretaries of Study and Account, to participate or not in national open contest to apply for the Judge position, and also on the surrounding circumstances influencing this decision. It is also aimed at stressing some recommendation that may enable women to improve their chances of entering.

PhD Gabriela received supplementary support by the Inter-American Foundation to train a second generation of young people in the Program Creation of Leadership in Community Foundations in Mexico, in 2013, consisting of US$ 121.980.00. This program, oriented to 22-29 year old youths seeks to train 40 emerging leaders, such as employees and voluntaries from margin communities of at least 14 community foundations, in maters like the organization development, and local and base progress, expecting to influence 700 employees and voluntaries from community foundations.

PhD Leticia Calderón obtained a funding to spend a sabbatical year at the University of Texas through the scholarship of the CONACYT Program for Postdoctoral and Sabbatical Stays Abroad for the Consolidation of Research Groups. PhD Calderón will undertake a research on matters she is an expert on: migratory policies, political rights, particularly vote, asylum, exile, and forced displacement.

PhD Simone Lucatello was invited to take part in a high level group that belongs to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Nobel Award winner in 2007. This group will be in charge of preparing recommendations for the next world report on climate change. Currently, the group has more than 2 500 researches from different disciplines.

MA Citlali Ayala was selected to make a six-month specialization course on global governance. The course, given at the German Development Institute (DIE), focuses on training young professionals for the challenges of globalization, participation, and internationalization of politics, and the contribution to the solution of global problems.

Secuencia review was indexed in SciELO in the first semester of the year, and América Latina en la Historia Económica (ALHE) was incorporated in SciELO, Redalyc, and Dialnet. These three portals have worldwide recognition among the networks of digital distribution of scientific journals, and are included in the “Ranking Web de Repositories in the world,” which recognizes portals that for their impact and visibility. With this indexation, our reviews not only are able to increase their readers, but also contribute to make visible history and social sciences researches produced in Ibero-America, and, of course, to enhance the high quality of the editorial work of our Institute.
