To support research and teaching activities carried out at the Institute, the Library “Ernesto de la Torre Villar” is specialized in history and social sciences, mainly of Mexico, the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

One of the most important and worthy collections is the Antique Collection, gathering together approximately 10 000 documents, several manuscripts, and mostly books published from the 16th to the 19th century, on history, law, religion, literature, and geography, mainly from Mexico.
