Upon graduating from the Bachelor of the Arts in History, the student will be able to:

  • Reflect from a historical and critical standpoint; develop a historical sensitivity and have a clear perspective of the great transformations of humankind along the history.
  • Know and apply the main theoretical and methodological tools of history.
  • Consider performing postgraduate studies and undertake research or choose, as professional practice, to work in the fields of basic middle education and higher middle education, public administration, public or private cultural foundations and institutions, archives, libraries, museums, or means of communication.
  • Understand concepts, techniques, languages (visual, verbal and text), essential to the historical analysis, and to communicate with the society in different levels and convey the learnt knowledge.
  • Know, according to the education line chose, some of the basic principles of teaching and didactics, as well as cultural dissemination, promotion, communication, and management.
  • Have the discipline both for individual study and teamwork.
  • Develop the interest to improve and explore new forms and instruments to teach and disseminate history.
  • Know the legal and ethical principles to preserve, use, and disseminate cultural, and particularly historical, knowledge and heritage.
